About Yoganana
I am Nana Kufuor—a healer, teacher and eternal student. As a certified yoga instructor and Reiki practitioner, my mission is to help others continuously expand their reach–and actualize the purpose–of their souls.
Prior to becoming an instructor, I studied and practiced yoga for four years under the compassionate teachings of Amireh Amiri at Sterling Healing Path in Virginia, where I learned the healing power of Chakra Balancing (holistic alignment), Pranayama (focused breathing), Mudras (mostly hand formations), Kriyas (completed actions and deeds), Asanas (poses), Mantras (repeated sound) and meditation – which promote detox, de-stress and the experience of our higher selves by, in part, detaching from the material world.
How did I get here? Well, I’m a rebel. After my husband died by homicide when we were both quite young, I was thrust into a quest for new meaning. I was broken and hopeless. Then, after seven years of deep grief and depression, I experienced an awakening: healing comes from within… and I have the power to heal. With my third-eye opening, I reimagined myself. I started from scratch, earned my sound engineering degree and eventually launched my own sound production company, Soundeazy. Still, the work to revolutionize my life wasn’t finished. I was later led to my teacher, Amireh, who changed my life through Reiki and intuitive-led yoga.
Loss struck again during the Covid Pandemic, and I began leading yoga classes in a private Facebook group for family and friends. I fell in love with teaching and embarked on a 9-month yoga certification, during which I became pregnant to my surprise and delight. However, unlike many who lost love ones to Covid-19, my pandemic loss was my pregnancy in the first trimester. I never imagined the intensity of this pain—both physical and emotional—and it inspired my determination to support other Mothers on their fertility journey—whether expectant, bereaved or on the path to conception. While pregnant and after miscarriage, I discovered the rich benefits of prenatal and postnatal yoga, which ignited the creation of Yoganana.
Yoganana’s blended approach stems from the breakthroughs I’ve experienced by combining various modalities, such as Ashtanga, Hatha, Kundalini, Yin, Vinyasa and restorative yoga. My ever-evolving yoga journey harmonizes these familiar yoga practices with intuitive wellness, crafting a unique experience for each situation—and with every appointment.
I currently offer in-home and virtual personalized one-on-one sessions—as well as special events for groups in indoor and outdoor settings. No Yoganana session is the same.
Discover a transformative experience that aligns body, mind, and spirit beyond the ordinary.
Love, Yoganana
